Mob violence against abolitionist activists

Mob, Mobbing what ? a crowd of angry people, who act in crimnal senses.
Mobbing, a form of systematic harassment.
( Flash Mob')
Wow in different parts of US there began a civil war between Blacks and Whites. The whites out number the black but also had the upper hand. Because there skin was lighter then ours. So they could get away with various things. But you had the abolitionist activists who had a organization , local and national, to promote the emancipation of slaves to aid fugitive slaves. How? dear you put your hands on these people who are trying to help the blacks escape to freedom. You abuse your privileges and now its time for me to abuse my rights by becoming abolitionist.

The publication of "Uncle Tom's Cabin"

My wife Letitia and I had four children together, Caroline Matilda, William Wilberforce, Robert George, and our littlest Frances Ellen. Our sons grew up and reached their dreams, our daughters aswell grew up to be smart, and brave young women.
Harriet Beecher Stowe is another smart, brave women and should applauded for her work on Uncle Tom's Cabin. When the book was published in 1852 (sold 300,000 copies in a year), Caroline was only 4 years old-- imagine my hope to raise a child in a time, where I could prove she wasn't hated by everyone. I respect Harriet and her family. She came from a very religious family with father, brothers, and cousins all ministers. Growing up with anti-slavery views based off religion gives my people hope. Her hatred toward slavery prompted her to publish other works like 'Life among the Lowly'. The way Stowe depicted slavery highlighted its cruelty, inhumanity, and its destructive impact on family, faith, and spirit. Her intelligence and determination was used to its greatest potential and I respect her. Her well written works appealed to the sentimentality of the Northerners and made slavery a personal issue. That's opposed to the 'distance system of labour' or 'expolitation of slavery' views previously held in the north.

Oh, and the shameful act the infuriated southerners made-- making 'Uncle Tom' a derogatory term simply shows how un-humane they are. That's all the recognition they'll get.

The Amistad court case

Once again, around 1839, Portugese slave ship abduted a large gruop of Africans from Sierra Leone and shipped them to Cuba. At this time Havana, Cuba was the capital of most of the slave trading that was going. About twenty slaves were purchased by spanish planters. They boarded the boat, while they were in the boat the Africans got loose and they start rebelling back. Word had got in the U.S shipped a boat to kill all african as they did. Why? Do you have to kill my fellow brothers.? No human being should slaves. This is another poor case.

The Great Postal Campaign

All I can say is that we tried to slow things up by putting paper after paper into overdrive and flooding the mails with antislavery newspapers and pamphlets calling for the immediate emancipation of all enslaved African Americans. But I wanted this act to continue so many slaves could be free. But, after all is said in down we will win this battle. No matter what them red necks feel.

Garrison's public burning of the US Constitution

It was the 4th of July - 1854-- William Lloyd Garrison publicly set fire to a copy of the U.S. Constitution! He said it was a "covenant with death" and "an agreement with Hell" because in its original form it allowed slavery. I admire his courage, and strength to withhold from bloodshed. He sent his message alright. What he stood for was clearly, and boldly represented that day. He is a man to respect. He risked his life everyday for the freedom pf people. His publication of the Liberator, his work with the American Anti-Slavery Society and his method of moral suasion make him an leading member and force of the Abolitionist movement. He wanted slavery to end in its tracks -- not gradually lessen, and you know what? I Agree.

Frederick Douglass "Fourth of July" Speech

This what my friend Fred said during " Fourth of July" Speech. What, to the American slave, is your 4th of July? a day that reveals to him, more than all other days in the year, the gross injustice and cruelty to which he is the constant victim. To him, your celebration is a sham; your boasted liberty, an unholy license; your national greatness, swelling vanity; your sound of rejoicing are empty and heartless; your denunciation of tyrants brass fronted impudence; your shout of liberty and equality, hollow mockery; your prayers and hymns, your sermons and thanks-givings, with all your religious parade and solemnity, are to him, mere bombast, fraud, deception, impiety, and hypocrisy a thin veil to cover up crimes which would disgrace a nation of savages. There is not a nation on the earth guilty of practices more shocking and bloody than are the people of the United States, at this very hour.
William Still I totally agree too what Frederick Doulgas, America you can cover up all the bad things that you have down to the African American race or other races. You can celebrate independence when you still have slavery going on on we need to fix this America and be true to our word. S.S

Kansas-Nebraska Act / "Bleeding Kansas"

I knew it! They were gonna find away around the Missouri Compromise. We CAN not, and WILL not allow anymore of our people feed this land with blood and tears.
'There' saying current violence is due to the compromise of 1850 and the disagreement of slavery. Well of course it is! And Stephen Douglass is no help. The Kansas-Nebraska Territory actually belongs to the Indians and is protected by the Missouri Compromise. This Act is going to allow the residents of Kansas to decide for themselves if their a slaveholding state or not. This is popular sovereignty! Douglass Act would repeal the Missouri Compromise -- what was the point of even issuing this act if some 10 years later you go against it?
As if that wasn't enough the 'Border Ruffians' from Missouri are attacking the antislavery population of Kansas and voting illegally! This is NONSENSE!
All of this tension was bound to come to an peak, and I'm unfortunately not shocked or surprised to witness the effect of the growing tension. 1856 became the year of Bleeding Kansas. The budding heads of the two governments in Kansas lead to a ... civil war. As a man strong in faith and importance of life the residents of cities like, Lawrence and Pottowattamie do not deserve their streets soaked in blood. Although death should never be an option I do find John Brown brave, he's freed our own, and killed those who enslaved us. Can I -- WE blame him?

The Missouri Compromise & Fugitive Slave Act

And yet another slaveholding state!
A whole other landmass to hold my people captive and enforce harsh labour.
Its 1820 and these sectional issues between the North and South aren't getting any better.
For those of you not fully informed on the details of the Missour Compromise here's the gist:
In turn for Missouri, Maine and all unsettled territory north of the 36'30 degree line (of latitude) are deemed free states.
However what happens when this unsettled territory becomes settled?
I'll tell you! More states to further degrade our people, break our families and strip us of our value and faith.
-----------
Another hit. The Fugitive Slave Act has been passed! My brothers and family here's what you need to know:
Its now allowed for masters and their 'agents' to pursue runaway slaves across state lines! If they capture you expect to be sent back to the south. However the master would have to go through a court process to regain 'legal custody'

Do not let this stop you from reaching the American dream stolen from you. This act does not extend the power of owners in the north! --D.W.
